ZEAL OPTICS to Receive OLN'S GG Award of Excellence

Zeal Optics has just been notified by Outdoor Life Network that ZEAL OPTICS has been selected to receive a GG (Gear Guide) award to be presented at an awards ceremony and then aired on OLN. Zeal was selected out of hundreds of product manufacturers for receiving the highest ranking, a 4 star out of 4 possible stars, for the Zeal BLAST interchangeable lens sport eyewear that was reviewed by cycling professional, Inga Thompson on the GEAR GUIDE special aired on OLN.

Here is what OLN's letter to ZEAL stated about the award:

BEST OF GEAR GUIDE - GG AWARDS PROGRAM Gear Guide is a half-hour show dedicated to field-testing and commenting on the most necessary, innovative and/or popular pieces of equipment in a sport. The Outdoor Life Network (OLN) premieres a new episode of Gear Guide two times per month. Each episode focuses on a different outdoor pursuit, particularly those sports which frequently air on OLN and are of most interest to OLN viewers.

Gear Guide takes a Consumer Reports approach to its testing, i.e., we like to mention what makes a product special or undesirable. And we do test everything! Our field testers are among the most respected athletes and journalists in their sports. Likewise, each episode of Gear Guide is shot at a location considered to be at the hub of its sport. The location provides not only a visually inspiring backdrop for the show, but also ideal testing conditions for the gear. All products featured on Gear Guide are rated by OLN's field testers from one star to four stars. A perfect four-star rating is a rare honor, stating that a particular product is perfect for what it is designed. It meets all of its product claims, and has no negative attributes.

Beginning in 2001, OLN will complement the on-air version of Gear Guide with an annual awards event, called The GG Awards. The purpose of the awards event is to honor those products that have received Gear Guides highest rating. In addition, OLN will also air a special episode, called The Best of Gear Guide, to highlight the products honored with this prestigious award.
