The recent signing of licensees in the apparel, home furnishings, luggage and eyewear categories solidifies the 2004 soft goods initiative of The Coleman Company, Inc. Well known within their respective industries, Polyvantage, Glenoit Fabrics, Atlantic Luggage, Rocking Horse Industries, gloves, Vision Products, and Rain Shield have all joined forces with Coleman’s existing licensees to offer a comprehensive soft goods program.

These soft goods licensees are powerhouse companies that have been hand-selected for their reputation within their industry and their ability to deliver Coleman quality products, said John Spotts, vice president of Coleman’s Licensing Division. For years, Coleman has offered its consumers a wide variety of camping and outdoor-related products. With the addition of these new partners, we can now provide our consumers a more complete product selection with the same Coleman quality they have come to trust.

In 2004, Polyvantage will launch a new apparel line that offers updated rugged outdoor style for men and boys. A perfect complement to these lines is Rocking Horse Industries’ assortment of quality hats, gloves and scarves in outdoor, hunting and gardening categories. Rain Shield continues the Coleman business in rainwear that has been marketed since 1994. Existing licensees Eastman, GSI, and Moretz Sports will continue to enhance and grow the Coleman soft goods program.

Glenoit Fabrics of New York is developing a Coleman At Home collection of blankets, pillows and throws to keep consumers warm and comfortable in their homes, cabins, tents, RV’s, patios and backyards. Vision Products is offering a wide selection of functional and fashionable sunglasses for driving, skiing, hunting/shooting and casual wear.

Available first quarter of this year is an entire line of Coleman soft-sided duffels, wheeled carriers, organizers and traditional luggage developed by Atlantic Luggage with the Coleman consumer in mind. Whether camping, vacationing or traditional traveling, this new line of soft-sided luggage provides functional storage, organization and Coleman style.

The expertise brought to the program by these new partners, coupled with our quest to provide updated styling and quality-driven products will undoubtedly mark our commitment to this effort, Spotts continued.

Coleman’s soft goods program is not just a domestic initiative, but a global effort reaching Canada, Japan and Australia as well. Consumers around the world will now have access to a wider variety of Coleman quality products, providing a more complete Coleman experience.
